Welcome to Pamoja Stays, the accommodation and homestays directory connecting football fans and travelers with local hosts in Kenya, accessible from www.pamojastays.co.ke. We are dedicated to protecting your personal privacy. This document outlines what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.
This Privacy Policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service – Pamoja Stays, which governs your overall use of the Platform.

2. Information We Collect
To connect football fans and other travelers with local accommodation hosts, we collect:
- Account Information: When Hosts list a property or Guests create an account, we collect names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Listing Data: Photos, descriptions, prices, and locations of properties submitted by Hosts.
- Direct Communication: Messages exchanged between Guests and Hosts through the Platform, along with associated contact details, to help facilitate a booking.
- Verification Documents: See Section 4 below.
3. How We Use This Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Display listings to prospective Guests;
- Enable communication between Hosts and Guests;
- Verify the identity of Hosts, to help keep the Platform safe;
- Respond to support requests;
- Improve and maintain the Platform.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. ID and Verification Documents
As part of our Host verification process, we ask Hosts to submit a photo of their national ID or passport.
- This document is used solely to confirm the Host’s identity before their listing is approved.
- It is not displayed publicly on the listing page or anywhere visible to Guests.
- It is accessible only to Pamoja Stays administrators for verification purposes.
- We retain verification documents for as long as the associated listing remains active, and for 12 months after a listing is removed, after which it is deleted, unless we are required to retain it longer by law.
5. Payments (Off-Website Transactions)
Pamoja Stays serves strictly as a directory connecting Guests and Hosts. We do not process payments, credit cards, or M-Pesa transactions directly on our website. All booking payments and financial arrangements are handled directly between the Guest and the Host, off-site. We do not collect or store payment card information, and we are not responsible for any off-platform financial transaction. See our Terms of Service for more detail on this arrangement.
6. Cookies and Advertising
We use cookies to operate the site, remember preferences, and analyze site traffic.
Google AdSense (pending approval): We have applied to display advertisements on our website via Google AdSense and are awaiting approval. Once approved, Google may act as a third-party vendor and use cookies (including the DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites, and this section will be updated to reflect that in full.
Managing Your Choices: Visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland can manage or revoke consent choices at any time through our on-screen cookie/consent banner. You may also opt out of personalized advertising generally by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com).
7. Third-Party Links
Our website contains property listings that may link out to third-party maps or direct contact tools (such as WhatsApp or mapping services). Once you leave our Platform to finalize a booking or use a third-party tool, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We advise you to review the privacy policies of those third parties separately.
8. Your Rights Under Kenyan Law
Pamoja Stays processes personal data in accordance with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019. If you are a data subject under this Act, you have the right to:
- Be informed of the use to which your personal data is to be put;
- Access your personal data in our custody;
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated personal data;
- Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions;
- Object to the processing of your personal data;
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) if you believe your rights have been violated.

9. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information you share with us. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Data Retention
We retain account and listing information for as long as an account or listing remains active. If you close your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
11. Children’s Privacy
Pamoja Stays is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will update the “Last updated” date above whenever changes are made. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
